Located at the point where the South Downs meets the sea, the series of peaks known as the Seven Sisters were created when ancient rivers cut valleys into the chalk. It comprises 280 hectares of chalk cliffs, meandering river valley and open chalk grassland. The ‘Sisters’ are part of the Heritage Coast, and will be protected for generations to come as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
With so much history and unrivalled views, the Seven Sisters Country Park is a truly unique place to explore on foot, bicycle - or even by canoe.

A great day out
This is a day out you’ll be talking about for years to come - but if you’re making the journey then make sure you have a plan of how you’ll spend your time as there’s so much to see and do. The handy Visitor Centre is situated in the park and provides useful information so may wish to start here.
Let’s talk about food, as it’s always useful to know where you’ll be able to fill your boots during a day out. The Exceat Farmhouse Restaurant boasts fresh home baked cuisine and is open daily. It caters for individuals, groups, functions or business conferences.
The main attraction of the day is the Nature Reserve. The star of the show, the Seven Sisters, are located here, but we promise there’s no way you’ll miss them. The area features fascinating shipwrecks, amongst a variety of shore walks where you’ll be able to take in the incredible viewpoints.
Whatever the weather, guests from all over the world come here for an infinite amount of activities and nature to enjoy. The reserve is home to grazing sheep, rare flora and fauna and a huge variety of birds. From cycling, paddleboarding and kayaking, to stargazing and wildlife spotting, it’s no wonder people come back year after year and often more than once to take it all in.
After a fantastic visit, you may want to go full circle and end your trip back at the Visitor Centre as here you’ll find a gift shop with leaflets, maps and souvenirs to take home and remember your visit by.
There are so many reasons to visit the Seven Sisters but here are a fitting seven reasons it’s so special.
