It’s not often that you can say you’ve followed in the footsteps of royalty, but at Horsted Place that’s absolutely the case - the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were once regular visitors here, don’t you know. If these walls could speak, they’d have some good tales to tell.
The good news is that you don’t need titles or a crown and sceptre to enjoy our warm welcome, fantastic seasonally-influenced cooking and the most comfortable of rooms. We want Horsted Place to feel like a real home from home - be you king, queen or Mark and Megan from Manchester...
Stunning accommodation In East Sussex
Recline, relax and refresh.
Who doesn’t love a lie-in? That’s one of the perks of a weekend break, isn’t it? Our individually named and designed rooms all have great views of the gardens, grounds or the South Downs - but if you want to simply lie back and decide what you want to order from our 24-hour room service, that’s fine by us! What’s more, book a hotel suite and you’ll also have a separate seating area to enjoy the vistas.
Of course there’s lots to do in and around the hotel - another excuse to reward yourself with a lie-in and breakfast in bed. If you’re in no rush to escape the comfort and calm of your personal sanctuary (i.e. your room or suite), then be our guest, and enjoy all the benefits - free toiletries, bathrobes, ironing facilities and free Wi-Fi - and of course the ability to order yourself a bedtime nightcap or indulgent breakfast in bed without too much effort… apart from lifting the receiver and dialling our number, of course.

Beautiful place to stay in East Sussex
Sports, spas and seasonal menus.
Book a stay at Horsted Place Hotel, and there’s little else to think about - apart from what to eat and what time you might feel like getting up! There’s ample free parking if you’re coming by car (Uckfield and Lewes railway stations are only 5 and 10 minutes away respectively), and we can even accommodate helicopters by prior arrangement!
Enjoy the seasonal menu of delights at our fantastic Parva restaurant, where ingredients are sourced locally as much as possible.
Anyone for tennis? Then head off to our all-weather tennis court – or if that’s too energetic, try croquet on the lawn. If even that’s too much for you, then why not take a stroll through our lovingly tended gardens or curl up with a good book in the Royal Lounge - inviting whatever the season.
As our guest at our boutique hotel, you can enjoy complimentary use of the facilities at Horsted Health Club – including a fully-equipped gym, sauna, indoor heated swimming pool and jacuzzi. You’ll find it at the East Sussex National golf course - one of the best courses in the county if you want to test your driving, chipping and putting skills.

The perfect base to explore
Located just outside Uckfield, Horsted Place has one of the best locations when it comes to exploring everything East Sussex has to offer.
The coastal resorts of Brighton, Newhaven, Eastbourne, Worthing and Hastings are all just 30 minutes away, and we have the stunning South Downs and High Weald (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) both on our doorstep.
If it’s something a little more cultural you’re looking for, then this will be music to the ears, literally - opera haven Glyndebourne is nearby - or if historic houses is more your thing, we’re the perfect base for exploring the likes of Batemans, the enchanting former home of Rudyard Kipling; Firle Place; Pashley Manor Gardens; and Sheffield Park. We’re also close to Charleston Farmhouse, home to the renowned Charleston Festival.
