It’s no wonder the likes of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were once regular visitors to Horsted Place with an Afternoon Tea experience like ours. After all, if our Victorian masterpiece is good enough for royals then we’re confident it is the best place to come for afternoon tea in East Sussex.
Enjoy a tasty afternoon tea in East Sussex
Plump scones and patisserie treats, afternoon tea is one of the finest British traditions and here at Horsted Place we like to keep this tradition alive but with our own twist of course!
We have not one but four afternoon tea experiences to choose from. In no particular order (although, we do love our scones accompanied by a glass of bubbly and need no persuading when it comes to cracking open a bottle of fizz!) There's the Champagne tea, Prosecco tea, Pimms tea and the traditional afternoon tea all of which feature the very best home-made delights. Enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, plain and fruit scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream, a variety of cakes and pastries and of course tea or coffee.

Our lavish afternoon teas are renowned across the country and here’s why. Accommodating groups of up to eight for afternoon tea, our surroundings always add to the experience, so whether you are relaxing in front of a roaring log fire in The Royal Lounge on a winter’s afternoon, or sunning yourself out on the terrace on a beautiful summer’s day, we’ve really got the ideal spot for afternoon tea but that’s really just the beginning...
Stay a little while longer, or better yet the night, and enjoy our wonderfully relaxing hotel rooms or suites that have all the essentials including free Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service to ensure you’re fed and watered whenever you need it – be that a nightcap or indulgent breakfast in bed. We’ve also got fabulous meeting and conference room facilities if you’re travelling for work, an all-weather tennis court and incredible local attractions such as golf courses, spas and walking routes in the area.
