Accommodation

In 1986  Horsted Place first opened as a Country House Hotel. It now has 17 bedrooms and suites in the main house, a magnificent Victorian Drawing Room, Morning Room, Library and Dining Room, as well as a tennis court and croquet lawn.

Comfortable beds, well appointed bathrooms and spectacular views are typical characteristics of our individually decorated and spacious bedrooms, most of which have a separate sitting area as well as ample wardrobe and dressing table space. All our rooms and suites have televisions, flowers and books.

Rates are per room per night and include full English breakfast, daily newspaper and VAT at 17.5%.

All guest suites are individually decorated, most have separate sitting areas and all have private bathrooms, television with satellite channels, radio, direct dial telephone and hair dryer.

Use of  the all weather tennis court and croquet lawn are included in the rates.  Hotel guests enjoy reduced green fees on the two 18 hole championship golf courses at the famous East Sussex National Golf Club.

This magnificent country house hotel combines the gracious living of the Victorian times with today's comfort.  The elegant Restaurant is well known for its delicious dishes prepared using only the finest, fresh local produce.

*There are also three twin-bedded mews cottages some 600 yards from the main house which offer simple bed and breakfast accommodation.

 

General Information and Booking Conditions:
  • All reservations must be guaranteed by a credit or debit card.  All major cards are accepted.  

  • If a confirmed reservation is cancelled within thirty days of the arrival date, you will be liable for a charge, refundable if we resell the accommodation.  

  • We regret that Horsted Place is unsuitable for children under seven years of age. 

  • Disabled Access:  By permanent ramp at the rear of the hotel.  There are  two ground floor bedrooms and a lift servicing all floors.  There is a disabled cloakroom on the ground floor.

  • Arrival and Departure:  rooms are available from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival and guests are asked to vacate their room by 11.00 am on the day of departure.

  • We operate a no smoking policy. 

  • Dress Code: It would be appreciated if dinner guests would observe our smart casual dress code out of consideration for other diners, for whom an evening at Horsted Place is often a special occasion.  (Smart casual precludes tee shirts and denim jeans.)

  • Mobile Telephones:  We respectfully ask that you refrain from using mobile telephones in the restaurant out of consideration for other guests' enjoyment of their food and wine.

  • We regret that we do not permit pets in the hotel, but we can arrange kenneling locally.
